Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026 (version 2.4)
Items marked (2.1) arrive with the Poleris 2.1 update, and items marked (2.4) with the 2.4 update. If your App shows an older version, they do not apply to you yet.
This Privacy Policy explains how Poleris ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Poleris mobile application on iOS and Android (the "App").
Information that stays on your device
Most of what you create in Poleris is stored only on your device and is not sent to us: your intentions, tasks, daily ritual and evening ritual entries, gratitude lines, 369 notes, "Manifested" notes, your own affirmations, vision board photos and drawings, compatibility cards and any friend's birth details you enter for them, reminder times, your stats, badges, theme and language. Also on your device only: your personal ritual (the mood, theme, length and optional intention you pick are used on your device to put it together) (2.1), your journey progress (2.1), your appearance setting (light, dark, system) (2.1), a small counter used to decide when to ask you for a store rating (2.1), and the username of the person who invited you until the invite is settled (2.1). (2.4) Also on your device only: affirmations you record in your own voice (audio files that are not sent to us; like your other app data, they may be included in your phone's own backup, such as iCloud or Google backup, if you have turned it on), the data shown in the home screen and lock screen widgets, wallpapers you create (including any photo you choose as a background), your weekly, yearly and 21-day summary cards and the sentence you write for the 21-day reflection. The personal ritual is read aloud by your device's own text-to-speech voice; the text is not sent to us. If you delete the App, this data is deleted with it. You can save a copy at any time in Profile → "Export my data".
Share cards and links
Share cards (for example a streak milestone, and (2.1) "Manifested" and "Journey complete" cards) are made on your device. They are shared only through your phone's share sheet, to the app or person you choose; they are not uploaded to us. The link added to a shared card or invite opens a small page on this site that sends you to the App Store or Google Play. The link carries only a short label for the type of card or invite (for example "share_manifested" or "invite"), and an invite link also carries the inviter's username. (2.1) The page passes that short label on to Apple or Google so we can see in their store statistics how many installs came from shared cards; the username is not passed on. The page uses no cookies and no tracking.
Information we collect
- Account information (optional). If you create an account: your email address and, if you choose email sign-in, a password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider). If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the email address (which may be an Apple private relay address) and, if provided, the name that service shares with us. An account is not required to use most of the App; it is required for Friends.
- Profile. If you have an account: the display name you enter, and your handle (username) so friends can find you. (2.1) When you create an account, we create a username for you from your name (for example "ayse_yilmaz"); you can change it at any time. Anyone who knows your exact username can find you and send you a friend request.
- Discover (2.1, only if you turn it on). "Show me in Discover" is off by default, also for existing users. If you turn it on, other signed-in Poleris users can see your display name and username in the Discover list, find you by name or username, and send you a friend request. They also see an "Active this week" label if you used the App in the last 7 days. They do not see your birth details, email, streak or any of your content, and there is no "online now" status. Turn it off at any time on the Friends screen; you then disappear from the list at once.
- Last active day (2.1). Only while "Show me in Discover" is on, we store the date (day only, no time) you last opened the App. It is used only for the "Active this week" label in Discover. When you turn Discover off, this date is deleted at once.
- Birth information (optional). If you add it in Profile: your birth date, and optionally your birth time and birth place (a city you pick from a list, with that city's coordinates). It is used only to personalize your daily note and compatibility cards. Without an account it stays on your device; with an account it is synced to your private profile.
- Friends features (optional). If you use Friends: your friend requests and friendships (including blocks), and the support messages and affirmation cards you send and receive. Support messages are fixed, ready-made messages ("Keep going", "Proud of you", "Sending calm"); Poleris has no free-text chat. Your friends see your display name and handle. (2.1) You can also answer a message you received with a one-tap "Thank you" (also a fixed message).
- Product statistics (2.4, optional). To learn which parts of Poleris are helpful, the App sends a few anonymous product events to our own server (hosted on Supabase), such as "onboarding finished", "paywall viewed" or "opened the App again the next day". Each event contains only the event name, the day (no time), the platform, the App version, your language code and a random ID created on your device. It contains no account ID, name, email, advertising ID or anything you write; it is never linked to your account and is not shared with anyone or used for advertising. Because these events are not linked to your account, they are not removed when you delete your account; they are deleted automatically after 400 days. You can turn this off at any time in Profile → Settings → "Share usage statistics"; while it is off nothing is sent, and events waiting on your device are deleted.
- Invites (2.1). When you use "Invite a friend", the link you share contains your username. If a new user joins through your link (or enters your username under "Who invited you?") and you become friends, we store a record of who invited whom, when, and whether the reward was given. It is used only to give each of you one streak shield and to prevent abuse (for example, a limit per month). The shields themselves are kept on your device.
- Friends' moments (2.1, only if you turn it on). "Let friends see my milestones" and "Also share when an intention comes true" are both off by default. If you turn one on, we store a short record when you reach a streak milestone (7, 14, 21, 30, 60 or 100 days), finish a journey, or mark an intention as come true: only the type of moment, the number of days and the time. The text of your intentions, journeys or notes is never sent. Only your accepted friends see these moments, and they can answer with one of four fixed reactions ("Congrats", "Proud of you", "Heart", "Keep going"); we store who reacted, to which moment, with which reaction, and when. When you turn a setting off, the moments it covers are deleted. There are no push notifications for moments.
- Streak sharing (only with your consent). Streak sharing is off by default. If you turn on "Share my streak with friends", your friends can see your current day streak, and nothing else. When you turn it off, the shared number is reset.
- Reports. If you report a user, we store who reported whom, the reason you picked (spam, harassment, inappropriate name, something else) and the time. Reporting also blocks the user.
- Purchases. Payments are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we never see your payment details. On Android, to confirm your Premium subscription, we verify the purchase with Google and store the product, a purchase token, order number, status and expiry date with your account.
- Server logs. Our backend provider keeps short-term technical logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and troubleshooting.
Notifications
All reminders (daily ritual, daily note, evening, task and trial-end reminders) are local notifications scheduled on your device. We do not run a push-notification server. Support messages from friends appear in the in-app Inbox when you open the App.
How we use your information
- To provide accounts, sign-in and your profile.
- To run Friends: finding friends by handle, delivering support messages and cards, showing streaks you chose to share, and blocking.
- (2.1) To show the Discover list and search (only for people who turned Discover on), to give invite rewards and prevent their abuse, and to show friends' moments and reactions you or your friends chose to share.
- To keep the community safe: reviewing reports and removing inappropriate names or abusive accounts.
- To personalize your daily note and compatibility cards, if you add birth details.
- To confirm your Premium subscription.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not show advertising and do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not use third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs. (2.4) The optional product statistics described above go only to our own server.
- We do not send your content to any AI or language-model service. Poleris makes no AI calls.
- We do not access your device location, contacts or camera. (2.4) The microphone is used only when you tap "Record" to save an affirmation in your own voice; the recording stays on your device. When you pick a photo for a wallpaper, your phone's own photo picker shows only the photo you choose; Poleris does not get access to your library.
Service providers
- Supabase: authentication, database and server functions (account deletion, purchase verification).
- Apple and Google: sign-in (if you choose it), in-app purchases, and, on account deletion, revoking your Sign in with Apple token.
These providers process data only to provide their service to us. Your data may be processed on servers outside your country.
How long we keep data
- Account, profile, birth information, friendships and purchase records: until you delete your account.
- Support messages and sent cards: 30 days, then deleted automatically.
- (2.4) Product statistics: 400 days, then deleted automatically.
- (2.1) Friends' moments and reactions: 30 days, then deleted automatically. They are deleted earlier if you turn the sharing setting off (moments) or delete your account.
- (2.1) Discover visibility, username and last active day: until you change them or delete your account. On account deletion you are removed from Discover first, at once.
- (2.1) Invite records: until the inviting or the invited account is deleted.
- Reports: until the reporting or the reported account is deleted.
Your choices and rights
- You can use most of Poleris without an account; your data then stays on your device.
- Delete your account at any time in the App: Profile → "Delete account" → "Continue" → "Delete permanently". This permanently deletes your account and all server data listed above, including (2.1) your Discover visibility, moments, reactions and invite records. You can also request deletion by email.
- (2.4) Delete your birth details at any time in Profile → "Extras" → "Delete my birth details" (on your device and, if you have an account, on our server). Turn product statistics off in Profile → Settings.
- Edit your birth details in Profile, and turn streak sharing on or off in Profile → "Friends".
- (2.1) Change your username, and turn "Show me in Discover" on or off, on the Friends screen. Choose what friends can see in Profile → "Friends' moments".
- Block or report anyone from the Friends screen, including (2.1) people in Discover and in friends' moments.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your data, or to object to processing. Contact us to use them (see Support).
Children
Poleris is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old to use the App (or older where local law requires). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Important note
Poleris provides content for reflection, habit-building and entertainment. It does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the App.
